The Sun Also Rises算是继承ISB衣钵寥寥几只乐团中的一只。

spirit of love， walking into the sun两首歌，把两支八竿子打不着的民谣团体联系在了一起。

听spirit of love时会不由自主想到walking into the sun，反之亦然。

walking into the sun并不纯净。

spirit of love，walking into the sun，多么美好的理想，美好到不着边际，但美好了整整一代人，美好的无边无际。

虽然Thicker than a smokery让后生Six Organs of Admittance唱红，但《Red Hash》中出色的曲目远远不止这一首，像Windy Child，Telegraph towers，I Pick Notes from the Sky，Stable the spuds等等都是过耳不忘的经典民谣歌曲，《Red Hash》实乃民谣乐迷的必备专辑。

The Village Wait

除了intro般的A Calling On Song是Ashley Hutchings所写外，其余11首歌都是传统歌曲。

The Village Wait如此神奇，正如当时的某媒体所言： "every noise is a pleasant one".。

First Thing In The Morning时，那种被感动的感觉真是溢于言表。

Alberta South
特别那首Where is My Soldier漂亮极了。

01 - Golden Smog - Please Tell My Brother

lyric:
please tell my brothers
I love them still
over the mountains
on their phone bill
I should call more often
but they know I never will
please tell my brothers
I love them still

please tell my sister
I miss her too
my nieces and nepfews
and their swimming pools
when I think about her
her skies are blue
please tell my sister
I miss her too

please tell my father
I love him still
forget the railroad
and all those bills
head for the cooler
and drink your fill
please tell my father
I love him still

listen dear mother
I miss you the most
and as I travel
from coast to coast
I feel your love
and I feel your ghost
listen dear mother
I miss you the most

listen dear mother
I miss you the most

02 - Woody Guthrie - the great dust storm (dust storm disaster)

the great dust storm讲述了一场可怕的沙尘暴，注意歌唱者将自己摆在什么位置来描述这场灾难的。
Lyrics:

the great dust storm (dust storm disaster)

On the 14th day of April of 1935,
There struck the worst of dust storms that ever filled the sky.
You could see that dust storm comin', the cloud looked deathlike black,
And through our mighty nation, it left a dreadful track.

From Oklahoma City to the Arizona line,
Dakota and Nebraska to the lazy Rio Grande,
It fell across our city like a curtain of black rolled down,
We thought it was our judgement, we thought it was our doom.

The radio reported, we listened with alarm,
The wild and windy actions of this great mysterious storm;
From Albuquerque and Clovis, and all New Mexico,
They said it was the blackest that ever they had saw.

From old Dodge City, Kansas, the dust had rung their knell,
And a few more comrades sleeping on top of old Boot Hill.
From Denver, Colorado, they said it blew so strong,
They thought that they could hold out, but they didn't know how long.

Our relatives were huddled into their oil boom shacks,
And the children they was cryin' as it whistled through the cracks.
And the family it was crowded into their little room,
They thought the world had ended, and they thought it was their doom.

The storm took place at sundown, it lasted through the night,
When we looked out next morning, we saw a terrible sight.
We saw outside our window where wheat fields they had grown
Was now a rippling ocean of dust the wind had blown.

It covered up our fences, it covered up our barns,
It covered up our tractors in this wild and dusty storm.
We loaded our jalopies and piled our families in,
We rattled down that highway to never come back again.

03 - Sandy Deeny-Blackwaterside
What We Did on Our Holidays，Unhalfbricking和Liege.&.Lief.。

lyric:
One evening fair I took the air
Down by Blackwaterside
'Twas gazing all around me
When the Irish lad I spied

All through the first part of that night
We did lie in sport and play,
When this young man arose and he gathered his clothes,
Saying, ``Fare thee well today''.

That's not the promise that you gave to me
When the first you lay on my breast,
You could make me believe with your lying tongue
That the sun rose in the west.

Go home, go home, to your father's garden
Go home and weep your fill,
And think upon your own misfortune
Which you bought with your wanton will.

There's not one girl in this whole town
As easily led as I,
And when the sky does fall and the seas will run dry,
Why, it's then you'll marry I.

04 - Ola Belle Reed - high on a mountain
最近，当代钟情传统民歌的民谣艺人频频作出象ola belle reed致敬的举动，去年Demolition String Band便出版一张全部翻唱Ola Belle Reed作品的专辑－－Where the Wild, Wild Flowers Grow: The Songs of Ola Belle Reed。

lyrics:
High On A Mountain

High on a mountain top wind blowing free
Wondering about the days that used to be
High on a mountain top standing all alone
Wondering where the years of my life have flown

As I looked at the valleys down below
They were green just as far as I could see
As my memory returned oh how my heart did yearn
For you and the day that used to be

High on a mountain top wind blowing free
Wondering about the days that used to be
High on a mountain top standing all alone
Wondering where the years of my life have flown

Oh I wonder if you ever think of me
Or if time has blotted out your memory
As I listen to the breeze blow gently through the trees
I'll always cherish what you meant to me

05 - Roger Mcguinn － dink's song (with pete seeger & josh white jr)

lyrics:
If I had wings like Norah's dove
I'd fly up the river to the one I love
Fare thee well, oh my honey, fare thee well
I've got a man, he's long and tall
Moves his body like a cannon ball
Fare thee well, oh my honey, fare thee well

One of these days and it won't be long
Call my name and I'll be gone
Fare thee well, oh my honey, fare thee well

I remember one night, a drizzling rain
Round my heart I felt a pain
Fare thee well, oh my honey, fare thee well

If I had listened to what my mama said
I'd be at home in my mama's bed
Fare thee well, oh my honey, fare thee well

the folk den网址：
http://www.ibiblio.org/jimmy/folkden/php/search/browse.php

07 - Roscoe Holcomb － across the rocky mountain

lyrics:
ACROSS THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN I WALKED FOR MILES AND MILES,
ACROSS THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN I WALKED FOR MILES AND MILES,
I'LL NEVER FORGET MY MOTHER'S LOOKS, GOD BLESS HER SWEETLY SMILE.
THERE WAS AN OLD RICH FARMER WHO LIVED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD BYE;
HE HAD ONE LONELY DAUGHTER, ON HER I CAST MY EYE,
SHE WAS MOST TALL AND HANDSOME, BLUE EYES AND CURLY HAIR,*
THERE'S NO OTHER GIRL IN THE WIDE WORLD WITH HER I COULD COMPARE.
SHE WAS COURTED BY THREE SQUIRES; SO WELL THEY DID AGREE, (2X)
BUT TO NO ONE LIKE JACK THE SAILOR WHO CROSSED THE DEEP BLUE SEA.
WELL YOUR CHEEKS THEY ARE TOO ROSY, YOUR FINGERS ARE TOO SMALL, (2X)
OH, YOUR CHEEKS THEY ARE TOO ROSY TO FACE THE CANNONBALL.
NO MY CHEEKS ARE NOT TOO ROSY, NOR FINGERS NOT TO SMALL, (2X)
O, IT WOULD NOT CHANGE MY CONSCIENCE TO SEE TEN THOUSAND FALL.
SHE WAS WALKING THROUGH THE BATTLEFIELD, SEARCHING UP AND DOWN, (2X)
ALL AMONG THE DEAD AND WOUNDED, HER DARLING JACK SHE FOUND.
SHE PICKED HIM UP ALL IN HER ARMS, SHE CARRIED HIM TO THE TOWN, (2X)
SHE TOOK HIM TO THE DOCTOR, FOR TO QUICKLY HEAL THE WOUND.

09－Jean Redpath－Rambleaway

RAMBLEAWAY（i）

As I was a-walking to Derry Down Fair
In my bright scarlet coat and everything rare
Enough to entice all the maidens that day
When they set their eyes on young Rambleaway
Rambleaway, rambleaway
When they set their eyes on young Rambleaway

The very first steps I took into the fair
I spied lovely Nancy a-combing her hair
I gave her the wink and she rolled her dark eye
Says I to myself, I'll be there by and by
There by and by, there by and by
Says I to myself, I'll be there by and by

As we were a-walking that night after dark
I took lovely Nancy to be my sweetheart
I gave her three doubles and fair length and share
And I told her I'd ramble, but I didn't know where
Didn't know where, didn't know where
And I told her I'd ramble, but I didn't know where

My mum and my dad, they are both gone from home
But when they return I will sit down and moan

I'll tell them my story and leave them to say
No doubt she's been playing with young Rambleaway
Rambleaway, rambleaway
No doubt she's been playing with young Rambleaway

Twenty-four weeks, they were over and past
This pretty young Nancy did sicken at last
Her gowns wouldn't meet nor her apron strings stay
And she longed for the sight of young Rambleaway
Rambleaway, Rambleaway
She longed for the sight of young Rambleaway

Then six months had past and three more had come
This pretty young Nancy gave birth to a son
She hugged him, she kissed him, and to him did say
Your pappy, my darling, hae rambled away
Rambled away, rambled away
Your pappy, my darling, hae rambled away

Now silks and blue velvet my baby shall wear
And a bunch of blue ribbons to tie in his hair
And the bells they will ring and sweet music will play
On the night that I wed to young Rambleaway
Rambleaway, rambleaway
On the night that I wed with young Rambleaway

RAMBLEAWAY（ii）

lyrics:
Jambo (echo)
Jambo sana, jambo (echo)
Hello(echo)
Hello everybody,
Hello (echo)
Jambo (echo)
Jambo sana, jambo (echo)

Jambo (echo)
Jambo watoto, jambo (echo)
Hello children, hello (echo)
Hello my good friend, hello (echo)
Jambo (echo)
Jambo watoto, jambo (echo)

11 － Alasdair Roberts － carousing
Travis,The Jesus and Mary Chain,还有更老的Donovan和Al Stewart。 The Crook of My Arm，第二张专辑Farewell Sorrow则全部为原创。

12 - Damien Jurado － smith 1972

lyrics:

Smith 1972

I am dead weight, I am __
You notice I am a hurricane
I draw houses I break my wheels
Strong like an oxen chained to a fence

I will not bend
Lucky I guess

13 － Vashti Bunyan-17 Pink Sugar Elephants
    Vashti Bunyan1969年录制了她的唯一作品Just Another Diamond Day，但直到2000年粒宝石才闪耀光芒。 幸好其中她得到了Just Another Diamond Day制作人Joe Boyd的无私帮助，三年的努力最终换来了成果，2000年Just Another Diamond Day重新发行，宝石终于闪耀光芒。
这首歌并没有收录在Just Another Diamond Day，2001年收录在Ptolemaic Terrascope magazine（着重介绍迷幻和英国民谣乐）第30期的附送cd中。

14 － Sarah White-You're Not Easy You're Hard
Sarah White

15 － palace - The Weaker Soldier

lyrics:

The Weaker Soldier
I once was a weaker soldier hanging in the war
But I left, like an ape, folded neatly in four
And silently played for a moment slow and bled
On a sandalwood bust I had
Where was the field where I had pressed another down
Where I had revealed myself by crying and shouting ?
I turned away from that and into this black kettle of one-ness

I have not been feeling the same
I am not fit to carry your name
I am not fit and I am not willing
To go on

Sold, down the lane, in a way to restrain
You from calling a name and then regretting
If you save what you own you are always alone
And then why postpone the good death ?
We are those who break laws when the cold body thaws
Who prefer breaking jaws but must lower ourselves
Unfit though we are to help you get very far
Still we would never mar your rightful due

I have not been feeling the same
I am not fit to carry your name
I am not fit and I am not willing
To go on

It was noon before she moved into the yards and pressed her hair
With a hand yellowed, smooth, and shaking
She had pulled on a housedress over nothing but her skin
And stood in the grass looking about her
You breath in here, and you've breathed of me
My girl here, she loves you, she'll take you upstairs
Call on me later, much later in life
But do me a favor and leave her up there

I have not feeling the same
(I have not been feeling the same)
I am not willing to carry your name
(I am not fit to carry your name)
I am not here and I am not going
(I am not fit and I am not willing)
To be there
(To go on)
